Little houses

My dollhouse-loving nieces have been visiting, and we've been making wonderful little houses.  One was a house made from a cardboard box and pictures cut out of catalogs, and the others were edible log cabins made of pretzels in the style of gingerbread houses - one for humans (with Nutella and candy and dried fruit), and one for birds to eat (with peanut butter, nuts, dried fruit, and berries.)

Cardboard house:

Natalie is very creative and a natural born miniaturist.

And of course they wanted the dollhouse to have a tiny dollhouse in it.  (And that's James Bond greeting us at the door.)

Edible houses:

This is Natalie (with red hair) and a friend.

This is me with Amelia, covered in peanut butter and chocolate.

That cardboard box house is made of awesome! I love miniatures made from found items around the home. (My current room box was made out of painted cereal boxes.) The idea of using cutouts from catalogues to furnish it is brilliant. Good job!

I always loved making things from found items when I was little, and reading books like The Borrowers. I liked making little tables and chairs from empty spools of thread, and towers from cardboard tubes, etc. I definitely had as much fun as they did making this house.
