baby's first power tool!

I'm the proud new owner of a Dremel Stylus!

I'm so excited!!!!  Granted, I haven't actually USED it for anything yet.  But still!  EXCITED!  It's so small and lightweight, and it fits in my tiny hands so nicely, and it's comfortable, and YAY!  I got it for making dollhouse things, but I've also always wanted a power tool.  And one of my coworkers has this one, and I've been jealous forever.  It's so fabulous!  It can cut things, and drill holes, and carve stuff, and sand and polish!

Dremels = love. I think we have two or three in the house. Haven't seen the Stylus IRL, but it looks good (we have a swanneck instead).

YAY.

Why do you have two or three in the house when you're so afraid of DIY?

Raven uses them. I just applaud and hand things.

That looks lovely. Wish you many happy hours of miniature-making with your new baby...

Thank you!

That looks so fun. How much did it cost you?

[identity profile] grace-poppy.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Um, about $70.

Oh Beautious!!! A good friend of mine who makes all sorts of goodies for Dolls, swears by this tool.

I want one. I don't know what for, but I want one. It looks like you couls take over the world with one of those. I don't know how, I'm just saying that it "looks" like you could.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. Ready to take on anything! Except, not quite sure how yet.

Well, maybe the world needs a lot of sanding and polishing.

[identity profile] grace-poppy.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It certainly does. So many sharp pointy jagged bits - like the Matterhorn, the Grand Canyon, the Himalayas. Someone could hurt themself!

Oh, the Preciousss! Are you going to do some day a miniature of the music room at the Governor´s Mansion, with golden chairs and Molly´s harp? *so not subtle hint* And the diving bell I´ve heard so much about??

[identity profile] grace-poppy.livejournal.com 2007-11-05 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, little golden chairs! I hadn't thought of it, though that would look lovely. Right now I'm more into the shabby chic - or rather, filthy chic - of nautical life. And I couldn't do the diving bell justice without learning how to weld and handle metal, I think.

Psst, tin foil ;) The kind used to frame icons and mirrors. It´s malleable, doesn´t tear as easily as silver, and you can brush and tarnish it to almost any shade!

Well, I'll keep it in mind...
