Stephen's wig

Remember my cat I was mentioning in a previous post, who likes to mess with things and knock things off of the desk?  Only minutes after posting that, I noticed that Surprise Stephen's wig was missing.  It had been on a high shelf that the cat had never taken interest in before, never!  So I had thought it was safe.  But no.

After doing a whirlwind cleaning job to try to find it, I finally tracked it down under the scratching post.

I would think it was funny and Stephenish - if it hadn't taken me something like 6-8 hours to make the little thing.

Tomorrow, I'll set up the Scat Mat on the desk.  This is the last straw!





ETA:  This was what it looked like before:




Alas!  I think I might be able to salvage what's there, though, and not have to start completely from scratch.  I hope so.

Bad Gianni! But you do have to wonder why Stephen's wig and not Jack's? Perhaps it is the magnetic effect of the Maturin or the cat just prefers Stephen's head au naturel. *g*

Naughty kitty! Though she would go after Stephen's wig, just because it's Stephen's. But even though she mangled it good, the wig still looks amazing.

Stephen's wig is the only one that isn't glued on. But yes, I did have a theory that it's the wig that particularly attracts animals to Stephen. I remember a scene in 'The Ionian Mission' where a cat sneaks in to his dinner party and jumps on Stephen's shoulder and rubs its ear against Stephen's wig happily, until the angry butler comes to take the cat back to the kitchen.

Ha! Scat mats give the pet (or barefoot person) a TINY electric shock when they step on it. I use them to keep the cats from jumping on the kitchen counters, or from standing in front of my bedroom door and scratching it while I'm sleeping.

I'm wondering if I'd have a use for that, but, sadly, I don't restrict my cats from anything. What I really need is something to keep one of them from bothering the other!

Eudora was bad about things like this. She broke so many things including one of my antique kerosene lamps, which fortunately did not have any oil in it at the time.

The last straw for me was when I heard a huge crash, and she had attacked an oil painting that was above the piano. It had sentimental value, and she put two huge slashes in it, as well as knocking things off the piano that had shattered all over the floor.

She took one look at my face when I came in the room, and went into hiding.

Eudora now lives with people down the street. Their cat wanted a playmate. I now have Snickers who was turned in at the shelter because he likes dogs but doesn't like other cats. He's awesome, and has yet to break a single thing. ;-)

Yikes! Eudora sounds like quite a handful! My other cat Nemo was a bit wild when I first got him, but I think it was because he too wanted a playmate, and fortunately his brother and littermate Gianni was still at the shelter, so I adopted him too. I'm glad they have each other to terrorize now.

Did you ever get the painting restored?
