Bottle labels, a chair, lenses for Mini Stephen's World

Miniatures update:

I've made labels for my medicine bottles.

Maybe I went a bit "overboard" (like Stephen) with how messy I made the labels with medicine spilling over them so much - but oh well.  Stephen's very messy.

I also was happy to buy my first piece of furniture for Stephen, this little Windsor chair.  I discovered when I got home that one of the upright dowels was cracked and loose, but I decided it was fate.  I'd been thinking about breaking one of them anyway, to match this chair in the sickbay.

My chair isn't exactly like the style of his, but it's close.  And I distressed it to make it look a bit more dirty and worn.

I also bought some "Realistic Water" which can be used for making water (obviously), or filling jars, pots, cups with liquid, or for making what looks like glass.  It's a liquid that dries solid and clear.  I bought it specifically for my magnifying glass.  This is the first time I've ever used it, and it's fun!

Here are the spectacles:

And the beginnings of another pair of magnifying glasses.

ETA:  I also bought some little dishes, primarily for the coffee cup!  Usually miniature coffee cups are more like a big mug or a tea cup, not a demitasse style like Jack's.

Those bottles are too cute! :D Also, things would slosh a lot at sea as you were pouring them out, surely, and get on the label? So they'd probably end up stained....

VERY TRUE! Thank you. :D (I mean about the sloshing. Though it's very true that the bottles are cute, too, naturally.)

Everything looks great! I don't think the bottles look "Overboard." They are perfect:) And its great to see what you did with the hardening water!

Those are all so fantastic, esp. the bottles! How do you have the patience? You must have incredibly steady fingers.

The 'Realistic Water' has worked great, was it easy to use?

Eeeeeee! I am amazed and delighted by your tiny messy bottles, and the little lenses. Those are beautiful! And you're a Master and Commander fan! I loved the movie, but never could get into the books. I read C.S. Forrester and Alexander Kent like an obsessed thing, though. May I friend you, so as to follow the progress of your tiny Stephen things?

Oh, I'd be honored! I shall friend you too! Thank you, re the messy bottles and lenses! I've been having so much fun with them. I've been posting my progress reports on [livejournal.com profile] doll_houses, but I'll start posting on [livejournal.com profile] little_world now that I've joined it too.

Yes, I'm a big fan of the books, and the movie too of course! I love the Hornblower books and series as well, though I never have finished reading them. I was a Hornblower fan first, but then I was waylaid while reading 'Ship of the Line' and forced to immediately start reading 'Master and Commander.' I'm half way through the M&C series, but I'll have to pick up Hornblower again after I finish. But as much as I love Horatio (and Bush), Stephen Maturin has stolen my heart.

But I don't know Alexander Kent!

Alexander Kent wrote the Bolitho series of nautical fiction, which is still going. It has 30+ books now, I think, and I'm only about halfway through. Kind of similar to Hornblower, but takes place a couple of decades earlier, and of course there's a lot more to read! :) You might want to check it out sometime.
