Look at this amazing tiny tiny sweater that was in the [profile] doll_houses comm!

I love miniatures...  One of these days I'm going to bring my dollhouse from my parents' house - if I can just find a place to put it.  It's quite big.  Hmm.  But I miss it!

I keep getting doll's house books out of the library, and buying doll's house magazines when I go into the newsagents. I don't even have a doll's house, though I will one day - when I have my own place so I have room for one.

An early nineteenth century farm-worker's cottagey type thing. The sort of place where the main character in my yet-to-be finished book might have grown up...

Oh, that would be fun! I keep thinking I'd like a sort of crofter's cottage dollhouse. And that would be tiny, too (instead of the Victorian mansion which is still at my parents' house.)

Aww!

I do, too. I have a doll's house, I adore them. What a great community.

You have one too? What's it like? Mine is a big Victorian thing - bay window, a tower, a big porch, 3 stories... you know the sort. But it has a 1930's family living in it. :D

I just had a thought! It would be cool to make a dollhouse that's like an old house from a previous era (like a Victorian house being lived in in the 30s) and paint in all the cracks in the plaster, and faded wallpaper, and worn down rugs, and dents in the chair rails, and things like that. Make it all distressed. Smudgy marks around all the doorknobs...

The wee sweater, that is. Not doll houses. Doll houses are perfectly sane, I hope.

Although a dollhouse of an insane asylum would be very interesting!
